The MSA program prepares individuals for a school principalship at all levels of public school and leads to initial licensure as a school administrator in North Carolina.
This program reflects Media Coordinator (School Librarian) competencies required by the state of North Carolina as well as Public Librarian Certification competencies of the NC Public Librarian Certification Commission, depending on the concentration pursued by the student.
These studies lead to North Carolina state licensure for the Technology Director (077) and the Technology Facilitator Endorsement (079). Many teachers pursue this degree to improve their use of computer technologies in their classrooms.
Develop the foundation skills for digital media production, instructional design, evaluation, and course and program development for distribution over the Internet.

Prospective applicant notes:
- Undergraduate distance education programs offer only the upper division coursework. Prospective applicants should insure that they have completed the required minimum lower division coursework at one or more regionally accredited institutions before seeking admission.
- Graduate distance education programs (whether certificate or degree) require applicants to hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution.
