Every state has the authority to regulate which postsecondary institutions offer education within its boundaries, including internships, field experiences, clinical placements, and practica. A student’s ability to participate in an internship is dependent upon the laws in that state.
Appalachian State University will continue to work with states to secure proper authorizations, to the extent feasible and within our available resources, in order to provide the greatest flexibility for our students who wish to complete educational activities. In the meantime, Appalachian must remain an institution of integrity by complying with the laws of other states.
Appalachian is NOT authorized in the following states; therefore, internships, field experiences, clinicals or practica may be prohibited in these states at this time. Please note, this information is subject to change. Contact your internship coordinator to discuss alternatives that might meet your needs.
