Information unique to Distance Education Program Admission and Enrollment:
The distance education MA in Elementary Education program accept applicants when new sessions are planned (via a cohort-model) at an off-campus location (see below). If there is sufficient interest, cohort members will begin together (same semester) and take their classes at the same pace (two per term) until graduation.
Program Delivery Information:
Beginning Fall 2012, many of the proposed off-campus cohorts will be delivered via face-to-face and online - called "hybrid". Two courses (or 6-7 hours) will be delivered each semester with 1/2 of the classes meeting face-to-face at the site and 1/2 through online instruction. For minimum technology requirements please see Tech Support Office. Locations, start dates and application deadlines are provided in the Proposed Cohorts table below.

Admission Requirements and Application Information:
Eligibility:
- All applicants must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid North Carolina “A” level teaching license or equivalent from another state. Please note, if the North Carolina teaching license is in an area other than elementary education, before the applicant is eligible to receive the M level license, he or she must pass the elementary education Praxis II.

- Application Fee
- Official (sealed) transcript from each college or university attended
- Resume (uploaded as part of the online application)
- Three references (submitted as part of the online application)
- Test score is required for this graduate program (see information below)
Test Score Information:
A test score (no older than 5 years) is required from either the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) or Miller Analogy Test (MAT). They are equally accepted. Minimum score requirements are listed in the Graduate Bulletin/Catalog.
