Financial Aid

Financial aid is available to Appalachian State's distance education students under the same guidelines, rules, and process that apply to on-campus students. To access the FAFSA, instructions, and information visit the Financial Aid webpage. Information tailored to the needs of extension/distance education students is available on the Financial Aid website.

Please note the following:

  • Students who wish to take advantage of the Appalachian Learning Alliance Consortium Agreement that governs financial aid for dual enrollment, should review the information on this website pertaining to the consortium agreement and should visit the "Appalachian Learning Alliance Undergraduates" webpage on the Financial Aid website.
  • Students who are tentatively admitted* due to the need to complete required lower division coursework/cognates and/or to fulfill the selected general education requirement option through dual enrollment should be aware that if the subsequent transferred coursework lowers their GPA below the accepted university minimum 2.0 (or the minimum set for their selected program), they will be immediately withdrawn from the program which will have significant implications for financial aid recipients.
Financial aid applicants and recipients please note: final transcripts for all coursework in progress at the time of admission should be submitted immediately following completion of the coursework to avoid serious consequences that may include repayment of any financial aid disbursements.
